1. Who we are
Zahi ("we", "us", "our") is an AI study companion. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Zahi, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Zahi you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the Service:
- Account information — your name, email address, and gender (used to match Arabic grammar and tone in generated content).
- Authentication data — encrypted password credentials and session tokens, managed by our backend provider.
- Study material you upload — PDF files, notes, and other material you submit so Zahi can generate study plans, lessons, flashcards, and quizzes for you.
- Generated content — the study plans, daily lessons, quizzes, and progress data Zahi produces from your uploads.
- Usage data — basic logs such as which pages you visit, feature interactions, device and browser type, and approximate timestamps. We use this to keep Zahi reliable and to improve the product.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data (such as health, biometric, or financial data). Please do not upload such material.
3. How we use your information
- Create and maintain your account.
- Process your uploaded material to generate personalized study plans, lessons, quizzes, and flashcards.
- Show you your progress and remember your place across devices.
- Operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
- Communicate important account messages (password resets, security alerts) and — if you opt in — product updates.
We do not use your uploaded study material to train third-party AI models for general public use. Uploads are processed solely to produce your study experience.
4. Data storage & security
Your data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure with industry-standard protections, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel and audited. Row-level security policies make sure your uploads and study data are only accessible by your own account.
No system is 100% secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security and you use Zahi at your own risk.
5. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with the limited categories of service providers required to run Zahi, such as:
- Cloud hosting and database providers that store your account and study data.
- AI model providers that process your uploads to generate study material on our behalf.
- Payment processors (only if you choose to upgrade to a paid plan).
These providers are bound by contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations. We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Zahi or its users.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or outdated information from the Settings page.
- Delete your account and associated study data at any time from the Settings page, or by emailing us.
- Object to or restrict certain uses of your data, and withdraw consent for optional communications.

7. Cookies & local storage
Zahi uses cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as notification settings), and keep the app working smoothly. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear cookies and local storage from your browser settings at any time, but doing so will sign you out and may reset some preferences.
8. Children
Zahi is not intended for children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will promptly delete it.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you within the Service or by email.
